This amazing recording by Harvey Brooks (piano) and Paul Howard (clarinet and saxophone) performing as The Quality Four is a perfect example of one musician bringing out the best in another.




The soloing from one musician to another is like relay runners passing a baton right after running a lifetime best race. The solos in this recording are stupendous, plus this track was performed live in one take. We raised the piano level and reduced some of the noise. Mr. Brooks wrote a mean song and played a wicked piano. more
